Welcome to the
Survivor Speakers Bureau Members’ Page
The Survivor Speakers Bureau (SSB) serves as a powerful platform for survivors to share their stories and raise awareness about sexual violence.
Through compelling and personal narratives, the speakers shed light on the impact of sexual violence, dispel myths, promote empathy, and inspire action.
Participating in the SSB offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in the fight against sexual violence. By joining forces with other survivors and advocates, you can create a supportive network and find empowerment through solidarity.

There may be situations where additional resources are necessary to ensure a survivor is ready to safely become an active member of the SSB. DARCC will work with those survivors to create the right supportive framework for them. -
No, there is no requirement to speak at a certain number of events or attend every activity. This applies to both inactive and active members.
Participation in the SSB is voluntary and should be a rewarding experience for all members, so our aim is to keep it as flexible and accommodating as possible. -
When DARCC receives external speaking requests, they will be assessed for appropriate fit. Speaking requests that are confirmed as ethical and beneficial will be shared via email with members based on their activity level. Members may also be invited to speak at DARCC events throughout the year.
Members may accept a speaking request on a first come, first served basis. DARCC will confirm the speaking request and ensure members have all the necessary information beforehand.
-
We do not have paid speaking engagements at this time. We may have paid opportunities in the future, but many requests may be on a voluntary basis.
If they are third party speaker requests, DARCC does not manage anything related to speaker compensation. The speaker may connect with the organization making the request to discuss speaker fees. Any future DARCC events where we ask for a speaker may come with a speaker honorarium.
