Survivor Speakers Bureau
The Survivor Speakers Bureau (SSB) serves as a powerful platform for survivors to share their stories and raise awareness about sexual violence.
Through compelling and personal narratives, Survivor Speakers Bureau members help shed light on the impact of sexual violence, dispel myths, promote empathy, and inspire action. SSB members may also be invited to speak at community events, educational programs, panels, trainings, and other awareness initiatives requested by organizations and community partners.
Participating in the SSB offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in the fight against sexual violence. By joining forces with other survivors and advocates, members can help create a supportive network while finding empowerment through solidarity.

No, there is no requirement to speak at a certain number of events or attend every activity. This applies to both inactive and active members.
Participation in the SSB is voluntary and should be a rewarding experience for all members, so our aim is to keep it as flexible and accommodating as possible. -
When DARCC receives external speaking requests, they will be assessed for appropriate fit. Speaking requests that are confirmed as ethical and beneficial will be shared via email with members based on their activity level. Members may also be invited to speak at DARCC events throughout the year.
Members may accept a speaking request on a first come, first served basis. DARCC will confirm the speaking request and ensure members have all the necessary information beforehand.
-
DARCC may share third-party speaking opportunities that could include speaker compensation or honorariums. However, DARCC does not manage or determine compensation amounts. Speakers may work directly with the requesting organization regarding any speaking fees.
