Outreach & Education Intern – Allies to Advocates Campus Program
Department: Education
Reports To: Director of Education
Summary:
The Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) is committed to preventing sexual violence in North Texas and providing compassionate support to those impacted.
The Campus Prevention Intern will assist the Director of Education in coordinating and supporting Allies to Advocates (A2A), DARCC’s campus-based prevention and leadership program. This internship provides students with hands-on experience in prevention education, campus engagement, outreach, and nonprofit program development.
Interns will work alongside the Director of Education to support student leaders, assist with prevention initiatives, and help expand conversations about consent, healthy relationships, and sexual violence prevention on college campuses.
This internship is offered in two formats to increase accessibility and allow students from different locations to participate:
Hybrid Interns:
Hybrid interns split time between remote work and occasional in-person meetings, outreach opportunities, or collaboration at the DARCC office. Hybrid interns are typically located in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and have the option to engage in local prevention work and community outreach.
Fully Remote Interns:
Fully remote interns participate virtually and support prevention education, outreach planning, digital content development, research, and campus engagement from anywhere in the United States. This option allows students to participate in meaningful prevention work regardless of location.
Weekly Commitment:
20–30 hours per week, scheduled based on availability.
Interns are expected to balance weekly DARCC internship responsibilities with prevention and outreach efforts connected to their own campus community. This may include attending or leading campus meetings, supporting awareness events, tabling, collaborating with student organizations or campus partners, and completing virtual or independent project work.
Some responsibilities may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends, depending on campus schedules, events, and programming needs.
Hybrid interns may also have opportunities to participate in in-person meetings or outreach activities in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, while fully remote interns will engage through virtual collaboration and campus-based work in their local communities.
