Referring To DARCC

When to Refer:

  • If a survivor of sexual violence or loved one has expressed interest in specialized counseling or advocacy support for their sexual violence experience(s)

  • If the survivor wishes to explore their immediate options or ongoing needs related to:

    • Reporting to law enforcement

    • Law enforcement or judicial accompaniment

    • Options about obtaining a Medical Forensic Exam (SANE exam)

    • Accessing victims’ assistance programs

How to Refer:

  • Empower the survivor to call our 24/7 Sexual Assault Hotline at 972-641-7273(RAPE) or our Clinical Line (during business hours) at 214-712-4901.

  • The survivor may also request an appointment on our website at: https://www.dallasrapecrisis.org/request-an-appointment

  • The survivor must contact DARCC themselves, unless a guardian is calling on behalf of a minor.

Additional Referral Considerations:

Confirm that the survivor is prepared and willing to engage in counseling or advocacy services, feeling comfortable with the referral and understanding its purpose.

We prioritize survivors’ privacy and strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements. For collaboration, a release of information form may be required to facilitate communication.

According to counseling practice guidelines, we generally advise against seeing multiple therapists for similar issues. Please discuss this with your client beforehand to help them make an informed decision about their counseling support.

We welcome professional consultations and collaboration!

Please call our Clinical Line at 214-712-4901 or email us at info@dallasrapecrisis.org and we will have someone from our team contact you within 1-3 business days.

If you have an urgent need or question regarding the client, please call our hotline at 972-641-7273
