Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

Job Title: AssistantVolunteer Coordinator 

Department: Advocacy 

Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator 

FLSA Status: Exempt 

Salary Range: $42,000-$45,000 

Position Overview: 

Supports the Volunteer Coordinator and Program Leads in all aspects of volunteer recruitment, retention, and functions. Primary responsibility for volunteer support functions.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the administrative functions required to ensure a 24/7 on-call response.  

  • Maintain accurate and complete records regarding all aspects of the agency’s volunteer program.   

  • Create and maintain the monthly on-call schedule for volunteers.  

  • Assist with delivery the 40-hour OAG training and maintaining training materials and documentation. 

  • Assist with volunteer appreciation events and formal volunteer communication. 

  • Assist with the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers. 

  • Assist with the assignment of volunteers based on identified volunteer needs. 

  • Assist with the production of program documentation for required grant and financial reporting.  

  • Provide hospital accompaniment and crisis hotline support as needed and be a part of the rotating on-call schedule.  

  • Provide training and education to volunteers as needed.  

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  

  • Volunteer management or nonprofit experience preferred. 

  • Spanish speaking preferred. 

  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and evaluate documents.  

  • Must demonstrate reasonable proficiency with computers and other electronic devices as well as agency software needed to fulfill responsibilities. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals through a variety of mediums.  

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. 

  • Must believe in, support, and act in accordance with the agency’s mission statement, strategic goals, policies, and guidelines. 

  • Ability to maintain a non-judgmental, accepting attitude towards people of any race, color, religion, ethnicity, sexuality, age, appearance, or economic status.  

Job Specifics: 

  • Work Setting: Hybrid virtual and remote schedule.  

  • Schedule: Day and evening hours in addition to occasional weekend hours required. 

  • Occasional travel locally and in the greater Dallas area.  

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking. 

  • Lifting of items under 30 pounds
